4月27日(日)、三浦半島の津久井浜農園へいちご狩りに行ってきました。好天にも恵まれ総勢64名の参加がありました。おととしは雨天中止、昨年はいちご狩り値段高騰により、代々木公園でのピクニックに企画変更しましたが、今年は、やっぱりいちご狩りだよね！と、人気企画に戻りました。いちご狩りは、食べ放題30分一人2千円(3歳以上)と、負担感は大きいものの、その分皆頑張って食べました。（※English is below)

いちご狩りの後は、ビーチへ移動して、お弁当を食べ、ゲームで盛り上がりました。じゃんけん電車、スプーンリレー、ジェスチャーゲームなどなど、楽しみました。

今回は、未成年の子ども24名、18歳以上のユース18名と、子どもとユースの数が同じくらいになってきました。JFCユースは、特に20代前半のJFCユース達が多く、その内訳は、RGS-COWのケースの来日して働いているユースが一番多く、続いてマリガヤハウスケースのユース、中学校や高校の時に来日し、その後日本で育ったユース、日本生まれのユースなど様々な生い立ちのユースでした。RGS-COWのユースは、もともとRGS-COWでの活動のおかげで絆が強く、そこにその他のJFCユース達も加わった形で、夕方には互いにすっかり打ち解けていたのが印象的でした。5月に予定されているJFCユース企画のワークショップにもつながる1歩になったようでした。

いちご狩りは、毎年皆が楽しみにしている行事ですが、単価が高く(現地までの交通費・入園料)厳しい経済事情の家庭には参加が難しい面があるのも課題です。なにか、負担感を少なくできるアイデアがないものか模索中です。では、皆さま、どうぞよいGWをお過ごしください！

On April 27th (Sunday), we went strawberry picking at Tsukuihama Farm on the Miura Peninsula. We were lucky with the weather, and a total of 64 people participated. Two years ago, the event was canceled due to rain, and last year, due to a sharp increase in strawberry picking prices, we changed the plan to a picnic at Yoyogi Park. However, this year, everyone agreed, “Let’s go strawberry picking!” and we returned to the popular event. The strawberry picking was all-you-can-eat for 30 minutes at 2,000 yen per person (ages 3 and up), which was a bit pricey, but everyone made the most of it and ate as much as they could.

After the strawberry picking, we moved to the beach, enjoyed our lunches, and had a great time playing games like rock-paper-scissors train, spoon relay, and gesture games.

This time, there were 24 minors and 18 youth members aged 18 and above, with roughly equal numbers of children and youth. The JFC youth members were predominantly in their early 20s, with the majority coming from the RGS-COW case, followed by those from the Maligaya House case, and then those who came to Japan during junior high or high school. and then grew up in Japan, as well as those born in Japan. The RGS-COW youth have strong bonds because of their activities at RGS-COW, and with the addition of other JFC youth, they had all become close by the evening, which was very impressive. It seemed like a step toward the JFC youth workshop planned for May.

Strawberry picking is an event everyone looks forward to every year, but the high cost (transportation to the site and admission fees) makes it difficult for families with tight budgets to participate. We are currently exploring ideas to reduce the financial burden. Wishing everyone a wonderful Golden Week!
