マリガヤハウスは、JFC（Japanese-Filipino Children）に対しての法的支援を主にした人権擁護活動をしています。

法的支援の内容としては以下の通りです。

・日本在住の父親の所在確認。

・日本の弁護士に依頼した法的認知請求、養育費請求、遺産相続など。

・日本国籍の確認

・無国籍の解消

・日本国籍の届出サポート

・ 日本国籍の再取得（国籍法17条）サポート

・ 日本パスポートの申請サポート

・二重国籍の手続きサポート

・JFCの親のフィリピンで成立した婚姻の日本への届出（フィリピンで成立した婚姻が日本に届けられているかの確認）。

※フィリピンで成立した婚姻は日本でも法律上有効です。

十分な証拠を有するJFCと母親は、オンライン基本オリエンテーションへの参加が可能です。参加者は、JFCの日本における権利とマリガヤハウスが提供する支援内容を理解した上で、手続きを進めるかどうかを決定する必要があります。手続きの正式な受付けのため、通常は毎月最終週に開催されるオンライン受付会議への出席が必須で、その後に正式と受理となりケース番号がつきます。

On June 11, 2025, we conducted an online basic orientation for Marigaya House. Marigaya House is a human rights advocacy organization primarily focused on providing legal support to Japanese-Filipino Children (JFC).

The legal support provided includes the following:

• Verification of the whereabouts of fathers residing in Japan.

• Legal proceedings such as paternity recognition, child support claims, and inheritance matters handled by Japanese attorneys.

• Confirmation of Japanese nationality.

• Resolution of statelessness.

• Support for filing applications for Japanese nationality.

• Support for reacquiring Japanese nationality (under Article 17 of the Nationality Law).

• Support for applying for a Japanese passport.

• Support for procedures related to dual nationality.

• Reporting of marriages between JFC’s parents that were legally established in the Philippines to Japan (confirmation that marriages legally established in the Philippines have been reported to Japan). *Marriages legally established in the Philippines are also legally valid in Japan.

JFCs and mothers with sufficient evidence may participate in the online basic orientation. Participants must understand the rights of JFCs in Japan and the support provided by Maligaya House before deciding whether to proceed with the procedures. To formally accept the procedures, attendance at the online acceptance meeting held on the last week of each month is mandatory, after which the case will be officially accepted and given a case number.
